Alright and as for the
Empower Young Adults Conference, we all woke up bright and early on a Saturday morning and made our way to
Lakes City Church at
Northbridge (with coffee in tow). And get this, the church was actually a cinema and they have super loud sound systems, complete with lights and a smoke machine haha. Damn cool, felt like we were at some rock concert man. At the end of the day, me and Ger had to have ear plugs because it was just too loud for us to tahan. But that's besides the point.. haha the main part was the teachings by
Pastor Chris Hill (from the states) and
Pastor Matt Garner (youth pastor of the church).
Waking up bright and early that morning was worth it. And although I was exhausted when I reached home that day, it was all worth it because the amount of stuff I learnt was just incredible. So many thoughts ran through my head during each teaching. And we had a total of 5 that whole day so there was
A LOT to digest.
The pastors put a whole new spin on passages that we've read over and over so many times. The main points I got back? First, is that we've had that special gift in us all along and all we need to do is to stir up the gift. And second, don't be afraid to ask more! We serve a God of abundance so ask, ask and ask for more! How can our Father say no to His children if we ask for something good right? :)
